About The Position

MG+M The Law Firm (MG+M) has an immediate opening for an E-Billing Assistant in our Edwardsville, New Orleans, or Jackson offices. MG+M is a nationally renowned litigation law firm concentrating on complex civil matters. The firm's expertise is diverse but focused in the areas of toxic tort, complex product liability, local government, general liability, and commercial litigation. We approach litigation as a unified team, integrating our efforts with those of our clients to advance their interests wherever they do business. Our goal is always to deliver optimal results at the best possible value. The E-Billing Assistant supports the Billing Department by troubleshooting, triaging, and resolving e-billing errors within client billing platforms and BillBlast. This role helps ensure legal invoices comply with client billing guidelines and are submitted accurately and efficiently, directly supporting the firm’s revenue cycle.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with spreadsheets and Microsoft Excel preferred; eagerness to learn legal billing rules, terminology, and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor invoice rejections, warnings, and failed submissions across legal e-billing platforms using BillBlast.
  • Identify and investigate root causes of recurring e-billing errors.
  • Resolve routine billing errors related to formatting, task codes, narratives, timekeeper data, or required fields independently, and escalate complex issues appropriately.
  • Reconcile claim numbers to the appropriate client and matters.
  • Prioritize invoice processing based on client requirements, aging, and revenue impact.
  • Support the timely submission of legal invoices to help accelerate payment.
  • Track recurring rejection trends and contribute to process improvements.
  • Communicate billing issues clearly with billing staff and supervisors.
  • Maintain documentation of common errors and resolutions for internal reference.
