About The Position

This part-time, on-call position involves driving to locations to deliver and/or pick up product, completing required paperwork, and representing Erb Transport professionally with excellent customer service.

Requirements

Minimum 1 year verifiable driving experience on specific license required.
Meet the licensing requirements for the specific job opening.
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and health survey.
CVOR, Driver abstract and a copy of a drivers license must be provided at time of interview.
Employment reference check will be completed.
Drivers must be able to bend, lift and carry freight up to 80lbs.
Criminal record check will be required.
Required to wear PPE (provided by The Erb Group).

Nice To Haves

Drivers are not assigned to dedicated units, and slip seating is required.

Responsibilities

Drive safely in all types of road and weather conditions and temperatures.
Deliver freight as per schedule and company policy.
Communicate with dispatch according to department procedures regarding pickups, deliveries or inquiries.
Perform required pre/post-trip inspections ensuring equipment is in safe working order.
Communicate with shop when maintenance is required.
Carry out all required paperwork according to company policy.
Comply with all hours of service and Ministry of Transportation regulations for all jurisdictions.
Load and unload product in a safe, accurate and professional manner.
Comply with operations of The Erb Group and company regulations.
Attend Driver Safety meetings.
Operate the onboard telematic device which includes the electronic log and communication system for communication with dispatch.
Perform other duties as required.
