About The Position

The Shuttle Driver is responsible for safely transporting customers to and from the dealership in a courteous, timely manner. This role requires a customer-oriented individual who prioritizes safety and provides friendly, reliable service, embodying Thompsons' dedication to delivering an outstanding customer experience.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to a dynamic work environment.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor, aligning with Thompsons’ commitment to integrity and customer care.
  • Ability to sit and drive for extended periods.
  • Capable of assisting customers with mobility issues, including helping with bags or other light items.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience as a driver or in a customer service role is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Safely transport customers to and from designated locations in a timely and courteous manner.
  • Assist customers with entering and exiting the shuttle vehicle as needed, ensuring they feel comfortable and valued.
  • Communicate estimated pick-up and drop-off times to customers, setting clear expectations for the service.
  • Conduct daily pre- and post-trip inspections of the shuttle vehicle to ensure safe operating conditions.
  • Report any maintenance needs or safety concerns to the Service Department to ensure the shuttle vehicle is always in safe, working order.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the shuttle vehicle by removing trash and keeping the interior tidy, ensuring a pleasant environment for passengers.
  • Provide friendly, professional customer service to enhance the customer’s overall experience at Thompsons Auto Group.
  • Address customer questions or concerns in a courteous manner, referring them to the appropriate team member when necessary.
  • Communicate dealership promotions, services, and events to customers, acting as a knowledgeable and positive representative of Thompsons Auto Group.
  • Log and report each trip’s mileage, time, and destination details as required by the dealership.
  • Track shuttle schedule and maintain accurate records of customer pickups and drop-offs.
  • Support other dealership staff with administrative tasks when not driving, such as assisting with customer check-ins or front desk duties, if requested.
