About The Position

The Dynamic Environments technology defines and verifies high-frequency shock, vibration, and acoustic environments for launch vehicle and ground system components and payloads. These environments may be derived from vibro-acoustic modeling methods, industry standards, and in-house methodologies and analysis techniques using flight measurement and ground test data. Statistical enveloping techniques are applied to analysis, flight, and test data to derive design, qualification, and acceptance criteria for vehicle and payload hardware. The technology also defines and verifies component test requirements, develops and maintains data acquisition systems used for environment measurement, and supports anomaly identification and resolution. The successful candidate will perform vibro-acoustic system-level and component-level analyses and support component qualifications for Airborne Systems and Development projects. The role is based in Denver, with 10% travel. Relocation may be available.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field.
  • At least 2 years of related work experience.
  • At least 2 years' experience in signals analysis, acoustics, shock, and random vibration.
  • Experience deriving acoustic, shock, or random environments from test and/or flight data.
  • Experience with component-level shock, acoustic, and random vibration qualification.
  • Experience with MATLAB.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work well in a team environment.
