About The Position

Third Future Schools is seeking a DYAD Cosmetology or Barber Consultant for Hempstead Elementary in Hempstead, TX. This role will lead engaging elective classes for students through the DYAD Electives program, which focuses on building 21st-century skills through hands-on learning. The DYAD program connects classroom learning with community-based expertise, bringing individuals with real-world knowledge to provide meaningful learning opportunities. The consultant will provide an experience through their expertise, helping students build creativity, confidence, self-expression, problem-solving skills, and habits of success.

Requirements

Skill, knowledge, and first-hand experience in art (cosmetology or barbering) or a related creative field.
Ability to work effectively with students in a school setting.
Strong communication, organization, and classroom leadership skills.
Ability to provide structured, engaging, and experience-based learning.
Commitment to professionalism, consistency, and student engagement.

Responsibilities

Provide engaging, structured, and experience-based instruction in art (cosmetology or barbering).
Develop and provide their own curriculum aligned to the elective they teach.
Independently plan, lead, and manage a class that reflects both their expertise and the expectations of the DYAD program.
Create a safe, orderly, and productive learning environment.
Actively teach, monitor, and engage students throughout the class period.
Maintain strong classroom management and uphold school expectations.
Ensure students are participating in meaningful, hands-on learning experiences.
Communicate professionally with campus staff and leadership.
Be prepared, consistent, and dependable in daily instruction.
Use their expertise to connect classroom learning to real-world experiences.
Contribute positively to the culture of the school and the integrity of the DYAD program.
Create opportunities for parents and families to see and celebrate what students have accomplished through art showcases, presentations, displays, or other demonstrations of learning.
