About The Position

Third Future Schools is seeking a DYAD Theater Consultant for Hempstead Elementary in Hempstead, TX. This role is part of the DYAD program, which bridges classroom learning with community expertise by bringing in individuals with real-world knowledge to provide students with meaningful, hands-on learning opportunities. The Theater Consultant will lead engaging elective classes, helping students build creativity, confidence, self-expression, problem-solving skills, and habits of success through hands-on artistic experiences and age-appropriate theater instruction. The DYAD model focuses on building critical thinking, communication, creativity, and other essential 21st-century skills.

Requirements

Skill, knowledge, and first-hand experience in theater or a related creative field.
Ability to work effectively with students in a school setting.
Strong communication, organization, and classroom leadership skills.
Ability to provide structured, engaging, and experience-based learning.

Responsibilities

Provide engaging, structured, and experience-based instruction in theater.
Develop and provide their own curriculum aligned to the elective they teach.
Independently plan, lead, and manage a class that reflects both their expertise and the expectations of the DYAD program.
Create a safe, orderly, and productive learning environment.
Actively teach, monitor, and engage students throughout the class period.
Maintain strong classroom management and uphold school expectations.
Ensure students are participating in meaningful, hands-on learning experiences.
Communicate professionally with campus staff and leadership.
Be prepared, consistent, and dependable in daily instruction.
Use their expertise to connect classroom learning to real-world experiences.
Contribute positively to the culture of the school and the integrity of the DYAD program.
Create opportunities for parents and families to see and celebrate what students have accomplished through theater showcases, presentations, displays, or other demonstrations of learning.
