Under the direction of the Cargo Manager, the Duty Manager is responsible for managing Cargo activities effectively and profitably by providing a safe and quality product, covering a range of services. Requirements

  • 3 years of relevant experience in the Cargo industry, warehouse management.
  • Relevant experience in personnel management.
  • Excellent communication skills (interpersonal)
  • Languages: French/English (bilingual), oral and written.
  • Eligible to work in Canada with an open, valid work permit.
  • Valid Driver’s License (mandatory)
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Leadership ability.
  • Customer focus and quality awareness.
  • Ability to deal with conflict.
  • Available and flexible to work various shifts (day, evening, night, weekend, and holidays) according to operational requirements.
  • Available and flexible to occasionally work at the YMX (Mirabel airport) location by operational needs.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for daily Cargo operations, efficiently managing staff to reduce dependence on overtime.
  • Maintain and improve customer and company safety and quality standards.
  • Maintain good relations with customers and airport authorities.
  • Manage and control all staff assignments.
  • Hold daily briefings with all levels of management.
  • Coach and train all employees to effectively improve operations.
  • Ensure workforce adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Participate in the disciplinary and grievance process with labor relations.
  • Ensure that incidents/accident reports are completed in an adequate and timely manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.
