About The Position

This role involves providing excellent customer service by accepting wagers for various race and/or sports events, verifying and cashing winning tickets, and assisting guests with wagering questions. The position requires utilizing a computer system for ticket generation and cashing, managing bank accuracy, and completing necessary company, tax, and gaming regulation records. As a Shift Supervisor, the individual will oversee daily operations, ensure compliance with Title 31 and Reg. 22, manage employee performance, operate betting terminals and systems, set schedules, supervise personnel, maintain records, report safety issues, handle guest complaints, manage supply stock, and approve payoffs over specified limits. Other duties may be assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Prior cash handling experience required.
  • Must be able to process wagers using the Company’s computer/software systems.
  • Must have excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Must be able to fluently communicate in English.
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain any necessary licenses and/or certifications.

Nice To Haves

  • Six (6) months of prior experience in Race & Sports wagering preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Accept wagers for various race and/or sports events.
  • Verify and cash winning Race and Sports tickets.
  • Assist guests with questions about race and/or sports wagering.
  • Utilize race and sports computer system to generate tickets and cash winning tickets.
  • Retrieve, verify, and maintain accuracy of bank.
  • Accurately and thoroughly complete any and all requisite Company, tax, and gaming regulation records and forms.
  • Make copies for daily betting sheets and scratch sheets.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with Company, departmental, and/or regulatory guidelines.
  • Oversee daily operations of the Race and Sports Book.
  • Verify compliance with Title 31 and Reg. 22, log transactions that fall under state reporting thresholds.
  • Ensure employees perform services and transactions in accordance with Company policies and gaming regulations.
  • Operate betting terminals and Race & Sports betting system.
  • Set schedule and maintain TV channels for Race & Sports book and control TVs throughout casino.
  • Supervise Race & Sports personnel and administer discipline.
  • Coach and offer guidance to team members.
  • Maintain written records and documents of shift transactions, gaming regulations, personnel actions, etc.
  • Report safety and maintenance issues in a timely manner before end of shift.
  • Handle guest comments and complaints in a timely manner in accordance with Company policies.
  • Ensure Race & Sports book is properly equipped by monitoring supply stock and ordering of supplies.
  • Approve winning payoffs over specified limits.
