About The Position

The Dual Shop Manager for NoMad + NoLita is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of their assigned stores while maintaining focus on their store sales goals. In addition to ensuring their teams are providing excellent customer sales support, the Dual Shop Manager will be responsible for the store’s inventory, marketing, and building the store’s client base, as well as choreographing the daily activities of a team of retail specialists. They have entrepreneurial ownership of their two stores and make choices which benefit their stores in a successful direction.

Requirements

  • Excellent leadership, organizational and communication skills.

  • Personally flexible with scheduling and available to work retail hours.
  • Effective planning and scheduling of store rosters according to business needs and agreed staffing budgets.
  • Ensuring appropriate scheduling at each store to match fluctuating business needs.
  • Working with the Training and Education Manager to identify training needs and cascade information and policies.
  • Fielding and responding to team questions on customer approach.
  • Reporting observations on in-store trends, business opportunities, customer profile, and training opportunities.
  • Strong experience and aptitude with Point-of-Sale (POS) computer systems.
  • Minimum 4 years of management experience in a retail environment required, preferably in the beauty industry.
  • Must have flexibility to work a retail schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
  • Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.
  • Apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • MS Office proficiency.

  • Ensuring consistent enforcement of people policies and accurate processing of employee paperwork and payroll.
  • Cultivating relationships within the neighborhood for cross-promotional, marketing, and potential amenity opportunities.
  • Reviewing and executing merchandising directives, visual displays, and in-store activations.
  • Proactively identifying opportunities, creating action plans, and seeking opportunities to grow location business and increase repeat customer business.
  • Ensuring availability of merchandise and inventory to support sales goals.
  • Ensuring inventory is accurate at all times and controls are in place to properly capture all inventory moves.
  • Performing inventory counts to coordinate orders for stock with the support office.
  • Ensuring the entire store is clean, shop ready, and open for business at the appropriate time.
  • Protecting employees and customers by providing a safe and clean environment.
  • Managing the cash register bank to assure proper mix of cash and change.
  • Managing weekly bank deposits and transportation of cash from register to safe to deposit.
  • Communicating in a timely manner with the Director of Retail Sales when issues arise which may hamper store operations.
  • Interviewing, hiring, and training employees.
  • Planning, assigning, and directing work.
  • Appraising performance.
  • Rewarding and disciplining employees.
  • Addressing complaints and resolving problems.
