About The Position

Strides Therapy & Educational Services is partnering with Aurora Public Schools to hire a Special Education Teacher at Escuela Bilingüe Betty Benavidez, a new dual-language magnet school in Aurora, Colorado. The school serves students in both Spanish and English, starting with PK–1st grade and adding one grade level each year. This position supports K–1 special education students and offers an opportunity to contribute to their learning and development in a school setting. The role is in person and is scheduled for 7.5 hours per day, 37.5 hours per week. Bilingual English/Spanish skills are preferred but not required.

Requirements

• Valid Colorado Department of Education teaching license with a Special Education endorsement.
• English language proficiency.
• Experience with special education instruction and case management.

• Elementary (K–1) experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized instruction to meet the needs of K–1 students with IEPs.
• Manage a special education caseload, including IEP development, implementation, and compliance.
• Regularly assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies to promote growth and achievement.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and school staff in a dual-language Spanish/English setting.
• Maintain open and effective communication with students, families, and school staff to support student success.
• Stay current with best practices and research in special education.
