About The Position

Strides Therapy & Educational Services is seeking a Special Education Teacher to work at Escuela Bilingüe Betty Benavidez, a dual-language magnet school in Aurora Public Schools. The school serves students in Spanish and English and is opening with PK–1st grade, adding one grade level each year. This position supports K–1 special education students in an in-person school setting. Bilingual English/Spanish ability is preferred but not required, and elementary K–1 experience is preferred.

The teacher will provide individualized instruction to students with IEPs, manage a special education caseload, monitor student progress, and collaborate with school staff and families. The position is full-time, with expected hours of 7.5 hours per day and 37.5 hours per week. The stated rate is $55–$60 W2 per hour, with direct and indirect time paid equally.

Requirements

• Valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) teaching license with a Special Education endorsement.
• English language proficiency.
• Experience with special education instruction and case management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized instruction to meet the unique needs of each K–1 student with an IEP.
• Manage a special education caseload, including IEP development, implementation, and compliance.
• Regularly assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies to promote growth and achievement.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and school staff in a dual-language Spanish/English setting.
• Maintain open and effective communication with students, families, and school staff to support student success.
• Stay current with best practices and research in special education.
