DTS Floor Coordinator

Shepherd Electric SupplyRichmond, VA
$21 - $24Onsite

About The Position

The DTS Floor Coordinator keeps the DTS system honest. This role is responsible for logging inbound and outbound material, keeping the department calendar current, and building storage packets for the DTS and Project Management teams. Accurate documentation is crucial for ensuring project timelines are met and customer promises are kept. This position is ideal for someone who pays close attention to detail, checks information before it becomes a problem, and understands the importance of accurate documentation in a storage and staging operation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office — Excel, Word, and Office 365; familiarity with Eclipse is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of accounting and math.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, and a professional, pleasant phone demeanor.
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously and meet deadlines accurately.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated and results-focused, with a professional attitude, conduct, and appearance.
  • Ability to successfully complete pre-employment screening requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • 1–3 years of experience in the electrical industry preferred; attitude and reliability matter more than years.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the DTS and Project Management teams to receive, review, approve, and coordinate DTS shipment requests.
  • Confirm each request against what is actually staged so approvals match reality — catch the mismatch here, not at the job site.
  • Keep the department calendar current with all relevant events so nothing is missed or double-booked.
  • Keep detailed, accurate notes on all inbound and outbound material.
  • Facilitate requirements gathered from storage agreements, bailment forms, and related documentation.
  • Create DTS Storage packets accurately and on request so the team can pick up without chasing details.
  • Maintain organized records so material, paperwork, and billing all line up.
  • Keep documentation aligned with actual transactions so discrepancies surface early, not at audit.
  • Communicate clearly with the DTS team, Project Management, and leadership when something does not add up.
  • Participate in trainings to build and maintain working knowledge of electrical products.
  • Surface workflow friction, recurring documentation gaps, or process inefficiencies to leadership.
  • Take ownership of other associated tasks assigned by the leadership team.
