Under minimal direction, the DSUS Bag Mover aligns bags so they enter the EDS machines without jamming. The role involves moving baggage from the default pier and make-up units to carts and delivering it to the appropriate location, operating a Manual Encode Station with a handheld barcode reader, and helping clear baggage jams throughout the system. The employee completes assigned safety training and follows all ELS safety programs, policies, and procedures. Management may assign additional duties from time to time. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, the ability to work a non-traditional schedule that includes weekends and holidays, English proficiency, an Airport Security badge, and a valid, insurable driver’s license. Employees must comply with the ELS Drug and Alcohol policy. Work takes place under the airport terminal, where employees may encounter dust, dirt, moving machinery, temperature changes, heights, and noise; PPE is required. Physical demands include frequent standing, walking, handling and fingering, reaching outward, climbing or balancing, bending or kneeling, lifting and carrying loads up to 20 pounds, pushing or pulling loads up to 50 pounds, and driving. Some heavier lifting, pushing, and pulling is required occasionally or infrequently.
