About The Position

DST Trailer Mechanic Trainee D shift (Springdale LH Garage). This role involves working cross-functionally across multiple areas of the garage. Responsibilities include performing routine preventive maintenance repairs on trucks, and addressing emergency mechanical or electrical failures. The technician will diagnose and repair truck engines and systems using diagnostic programs, and perform minor structural welding and cutting tasks. The ability to safely apply knowledge and troubleshooting skills to all assigned equipment is essential, along with effective communication with transportation personnel including managers, drivers, and clerks. The role requires the ability to read and interpret instructions, manuals, and schematics, along with basic math skills. Basic computer skills are necessary for documenting information, processing daily work orders, and completing required documentation. The truck tech may be required to perform service calls on equipment at remote locations.

Requirements

Must have a current valid driver’s license
Must be able to read and interpret instructions, manuals, and schematics
Basic math skills are necessary
Basic computer skills will be necessary to document information, process daily work orders, and complete required documentation
Must pass MVR check
Must be 18 years of age or older
Must not have any DUI/DWI convictions within the last 12 months
Must have 3 months of employment in the last 6 months with a single company
Prior Tyson Team members are eligible for rehire after completing a 180-day waiting period
Prior Tyson Team members cannot have worked 3 times or more for Tyson Foods
Willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation

Nice To Haves

3 months experience preferred
Show proficiency on standard preventive maintenance (PM1’s, PM2’s for trucks or trailers depending on mechanic classification)
Brake Inspector Certification
Wheel end class/certification
Basic Electrical
Identify fault codes

Responsibilities
