About The Position

InReach is hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP) as an independent contractor to support an adult male with developmental disabilities in the Monroe, North Carolina area of Union County. The contractor will provide respite services every other Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The pay rate is $16.07 per hour.

The role includes providing instruction and assistance in home living environments, supporting the individual in identifying and acquiring valued social roles, facilitating community integration, and helping develop healthy social habits. The DSP will dispense medication and monitor dosages, and transport and accompany the individual to and from day programs, work sites, and community activities.

This is an independent contractor position. Contractors receive a 1099 tax form and use a third-party contract management vendor for direct deposits. Contractors are responsible for fees for state-required training, Occupational Accident Insurance, and the contract management vendor’s administrative services. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license.
• Successfully pass a drug screen and background check.
• Pay required contractor fees for state-required training, Occupational Accident Insurance, and the contract management vendor's administrative services.

Nice To Haves

• One to two years of experience with the intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) population is preferred.
