About The Position
This role involves assisting a supervisor in a Day Support Program (DSP) by setting up and maintaining daily activities, providing meaningful training to individuals to build skills and independence, and assisting with personal care needs. The DSP Aide will also help with meal times, transportation, and ensuring the smooth flow of activities. Additionally, the role includes providing one-on-one support, participating in community outings, documenting daily activities, and maintaining cleanliness of the facility.
Requirements
- Initial 8 hour BID training prior to in-person training
- First Aid & CPR
- Ault Day Array - 8 hour training in BID
Responsibilities
- Assisting supervisor and setting up activities each morning and afternoon
- Maintaining programming and activities to keep things moving throughout the day
- Providing meaningful training and activities to individuals to continue to build skills and independence
- Assisting supervisor with maintaining individual's personal cares when needed
- Helping with snack and meal times such as heating meals, setting up adaptive equipment, etc.
- Assisting individuals loading and unloading from their transportation each day
- Keeping the "flow" moving in the areas if supervisor is pulled away
- Providing assistance to individuals that need hand over hand or one on one attention to complete a task
- Participating and assisting with out trips and community actives as directed by DSP
- Writing in daily communication books or documents daily activities to families and HPC providers
- Providing one on one sensory and engaging activities to individuals receiving services
- Helping in keeping the areas and building clean and sanitized
