About The Position

This position is responsible for assisting the Supervisor in coordination of the daily responsibilities of the department by ensuring the Supervisor’s instructions are communicated to the team members and carried out timely and correctly. This position will also monitor all equipment to insure it is working properly and notify the supervisor of any needed maintenance while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. Applicants must be willing to work overtime and weekends. Some departments are hot/wet, and some are cold/wet. Fill in as necessary to cover breaks, absentees and emergencies as needed. Current Leads will have first consideration over other applicants. Some positions require using knives and scissors. Positions require walking to the job station. Some jobs require climbing stairs or climbing onto a work stand. Some positions require pushing, pulling, or lifting over 40 lbs. Requires lifting above shoulder level. Jobs are fast paced and require repetitive motion. Position requires standing approximately 8.5 hours/day on concrete floor or on metal stands. Position requires learning and training Team Members on all job assignments within the department. Requires basic computer skills to enter collected DATA into system. Requirements

  • MINIMUM OF 1 YEAR OF LEAD EXPERIENCE IN A POULTRY PROCESSING OR RELATED INDUSTRY (experience can be combined across employers if it totals at least 1 year)
  • Relevant work experience documented in the work history section of the application or upload a resume with relevant work history experience
  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to use knives and scissors (for some positions)
  • Ability to walk to the job station
  • Ability to climb stairs or climb onto a work stand (for some jobs)
  • Ability to push, pull, or lift over 40 lbs (for some positions)
  • Ability to lift above shoulder level
