About The Position

The Department of Social and Health Services, Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) is hiring a Residential Services Coordinator. In this role, you'll be instrumental in the hiring and scheduling of 24 hour/7 days a week direct care staff located in Yakima, WA. You will also assist with employee training and ensure compliance with WAC, federal regulations, and DDA standard operating procedures. Opportunities performed on-site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary. Requirements

  • Skilled in organization and management of staff schedules.
  • Skilled in creating tracking, filing, and monitoring systems.
  • Experience supporting people with developmental disabilities.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to anticipate problems and proactively work to mitigate them.
  • High school graduation or GED and three years of experience working with clients with developmental disabilities.
  • OR Three years of experience as an Attendant Counselor 3 equivalent or higher-level class.

Responsibilities

  • Determine staffing needs and schedule coverage for each home.
  • Carry the after-hours duty phone to respond to emergencies or call-outs as needed.
  • Assist with the recruitment, training, and orientation of Attendant Counselor (AC) staff.
  • Schedule and monitor mandatory training completion for staff.
  • Review leave requests and inform staff about availability.
  • Complete time and attendance records for staff and respond to emergent staffing needs.
  • Facilitate ordering, purchasing, and payments for goods and services while addressing staff questions and concerns.
