About The Position

The DSD/Pricing Specialist supports accurate vendor deliveries, inventory handling, and in-store pricing at Hugo’s Family Marketplace, Store #5, 14th St NE, East Grand Forks, Minnesota. Associates are expected to be proficient in both Direct Store Delivery (DSD) and pricing responsibilities. For DSD work, the specialist checks in vendors, verifies delivery counts and invoice costs, handles returns and discrepancies, assists with price tags and verification, and keeps the receiving area clean, organized, and safe. The role provides customer service to internal and external stakeholders. For pricing work, the specialist maintains product pricing in stores and system databases, checks shelf tags, labels, and signage against promotions and sales, prices new products, and adjusts prices for inventory changes, promotions, or markdowns. The specialist also conducts price audits, supports sales-floor updates, responds professionally to customer pricing questions, maintains records of pricing changes, and assists with inventory counts or product rotations. The position works with store management and merchandising teams to support pricing consistency and compliance with company standards.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Entry-level to 1–2 years of experience in retail, grocery, or a similar environment.
Experience handling inventory, stocking, or receiving shipments.
Basic customer service experience and experience interacting with vendors or team members.
Familiarity with point-of-sale systems or basic computer applications.
Attention to detail and accuracy in deliveries and pricing.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Organizational skills and ability to multitask.
Knowledge of inventory management, labeling, and product rotation.
Team-oriented and adaptable across DSD and pricing tasks.

Nice To Haves

Additional coursework or certifications in retail, merchandising, or inventory management.
Associate’s degree in business management or another related field.
Experience with DSD, pricing operations, or vendor management.
Prior experience in pricing, merchandising, or conducting price audits.
Experience in a multi-department retail environment.
Exposure to retail compliance standards, labeling, and inventory control.

Responsibilities

Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
Check in Direct Store Delivery (DSD) vendors and verify deliveries.

Collaborate with store management and merchandising teams to ensure pricing consistency.
Conduct regular price audits to ensure compliance with company standards.
Support sales-floor updates by hanging tags, updating displays, and correcting pricing errors.
Handle customer inquiries regarding pricing and promotions professionally.
Maintain organized records of pricing updates and changes.
Assist with inventory counts or product rotations as needed.
Follow company policies, safety guidelines, and retail compliance standards.
