Drywall Mechanic
About The Position
Con App Inc. is hiring an experienced Drywall Mechanic for residential new home construction projects in Richmond, Williamsburg, and the Tidewater, Virginia service area, including Smithfield, Suffolk, Chesapeake, and Virginia Beach. The role works across multiple job sites in a fast-paced construction environment while maintaining quality, schedule, and safety. This is a full-time, hourly position paying $22.00–$26.00 per hour based on experience. The regular schedule is Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM. Requirements
- Drywall Mechanic experience is preferred; compensation is based on experience.
- Proficiency with the hand and power tools of the trade.
- Reliable transportation to job sites.
- High visual acuity to identify subtle lighting shadows and surface imperfections that may appear after painting.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb, and work overhead for extended periods.
- Ability to work from ladders, scaffolds, and lifts.
- Ability to work in varying jobsite conditions, including heat, cold, and dust.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, patch, and finish drywall so surface repairs and minor flaws are not visible.
- Cut out, replace, and patch damaged drywall sections.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow OSHA and site-specific safety requirements.
