About The Position

The Dryer Operator safely runs protein plant dryer equipment to meet production goals while maintaining consistent product quality. The role also covers departmental functions such as protein drying and bagging. The operator works with production machinery, packages protein powder in 50-pound bags or large totes, and follows chemical safety, workplace safety, cGMP, sanitation, and food safety practices. The position reports to the Production Supervisor in the Protein Department.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Minimum of 1 year of work experience.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work as a team player and independently.
Attention to detail.
Flexibility to work different shifts, days, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, climb stairs, and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

Safely operate protein plant dryer equipment and achieve production goals while maintaining consistent quality.
Run and perform maintenance on large machinery.
Package protein powder in 50-pound bags or large totes.
Troubleshoot machinery.
Clean floors, walls, tools, and other areas or equipment.
Follow chemical safety, workplace safety, cGMP, and sanitation practices and training.
Perform CIP and sanitation of equipment.
Conduct routine inspections of working parts.
Move pallets using a pallet jack or forklift as required.
Comply with Plant, State, and Federal OSHA, EPA, FDA, HACCP, and SQF regulations.
Comply with plant GMPs and assist in maintaining the Food Safety and Quality System.
