Kimley-Horn's Broomfield, Colorado (CO) office is seeking a Dry Utilities Designer with 6+ years of experience to join their Dry Utilities team. This is not a remote position. The role involves working on a variety of projects, including undergrounding overhead electrical and communications lines, coordinating electrical and communications utilities for new developments, photometrics and lighting, and natural gas lines. Responsibilities include managing project tasks, design and permitting, construction coordination, and providing guidance to less experienced staff. The position requires regular use of technical software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D and ArcGIS Pro for analysis, production, and review of client deliverables. The designer will attend meetings and communicate with clients, government entities, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with project regulations and requirements. Collaboration with other industry professionals, jurisdictions, and contractors is essential. The role also includes monitoring project progress, budgets, and schedules, and performing various engineering tasks with opportunities for on-the-job and formal training, mentorship, and exposure to plan production, project financials, and client interactions.
