Drum Music Teacher - Private Instruction - Part Time
About The Position
Bach To Rock is seeking a part-time Drum Music Teacher to provide music and performance lessons to students of all ages. Teachers use the Bach to Rock curriculum to deliver an inspiring, well-balanced music education, teaching theory and technique through music students know and love. Students may perform in bands, record in the studio, and compose original music. The role is based at a state-of-the-art 2,600-square-foot music studio. The school handles marketing, scheduling, booking, billing, and other business aspects so teachers can focus on instruction. The hourly rate is based on education, experience, expertise, and availability.
Requirements
- Demonstrate an understanding of music concepts and communicate those concepts effectively to students.
- Have an advanced understanding of music theory and technique relevant to the primary instrument.
- Have effective time-management and organizational skills to keep students on task during lessons.
- Be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a variety of personalities.
- Be an experienced solo or group performer.
- Have experience working with youth and/or beginning musicians.
- Be able to interact effectively with children and adults.
- Be able to pass a background check.
Nice To Haves
- Associate degree preferred.
- One year of teaching experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Teach private and semi-private lessons using the Bach to Rock curriculum and cover song arrangements.
- Create an encouraging, fun, and focused lesson atmosphere.
- Assess students’ readiness to join a band or ensemble.
- Assist at school events.
- Repair equipment as needed and when able.
