About The Position

The Drug Testing Compliance Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring the integrity of drug and alcohol testing programs for employees. This position involves managing the entire process from notification and tracking to compliance with treatment plans and maintaining accurate records. The officer acts as a key liaison between employees, supervisors, substance abuse professionals, and the Human Resources department, ensuring all regulatory requirements are met. The role also requires maintaining drug testing equipment, assisting with background and driver's license checks, and providing general office support. A significant aspect of this position is the on-call availability, requiring a prompt response to requests and the ability to travel to the location. The officer must represent the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa with professionalism and courtesy, maintaining proper attendance and a clean work area. Flexibility and willingness to assume additional responsibilities are also essential.

Requirements

  • A valid US Driver’s License is required.
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Two years’ customer service experience is required.
  • Drug and Alcohol Testing certification is required; if not certified at the time of hire, must become certified within 90-days of hire and maintain certification for the duration of employment.
  • Competency in report writing is required.
  • Knowledge of computer applications to include word processing, databases and/or data entry, spreadsheets and Microsoft Outlook is required.
  • Ability to obtain a gaming identification badge to work in and around Casino property and facilities.
  • Strict adherence to confidentiality in accordance with the federal Privacy Act and Band data practices policies is required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing is required.
  • Ability to work independently and establish priorities is required.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy is required.
  • Ability to establish professional and harmonious working relationships on all projects and with all parties involved.
  • Subject to drug and alcohol testing in accordance with the Fond du Lac Reservation’s Personnel Policies.
  • Subject to pre-employment and annual background checks.
  • Subject to immunization review and submitted proof of required vaccinations.

Nice To Haves

  • A.A or A.A.S is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting drug tests is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares timely notification to supervisors regarding results for pre-employment, post-accident, and probable cause testing.
  • Prepares timely notification to employees regarding the results of testing.
  • Tracks compliance with treatment plans as directed by a Substance Abuse Professional.
  • Serves as the main contact for drug testing results.
  • Notifies employees of positive drug/alcohol testing results.
  • Collaborates with the Compliance department to ensure all regulations and requirements are met.
  • Works with employees, supervisors, and substance abuse professionals when dealing with employees with positive tests.
  • Maintains accurate records of all testing results, treatment plans, treatment plan documentation, and training.
  • Monitors and creates a maintenance schedule for all drug testing equipment and supplies.
  • Works closely with the Human Resources Department regarding pre-employment testing for new and returning employees.
  • Tracks billing for payment to the lab and medical review officer.
  • Cross-trains to perform background checks when necessary.
  • Cross-trains to complete driver's license and insurability checks when necessary.
  • Assists the Compliance department with general office responsibilities as necessary.
  • Provides on-call availability, responding to requests within an hour and providing own transportation.
  • Works with the Compliance Department to maintain and create an on-call schedule.
  • Displays a responsive and professional manner in promptly responding to all requests, complaints, and problems.
  • Recognizes that each employee is a representative of the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and is responsible for demonstrating courtesy, respect, and sensitivity to the needs of all others.
  • Represents the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and the department in a positive and professional manner in the community.
  • Maintains proper attendance and reports to work on time.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area.
  • Assumes other responsibilities assigned by management as deemed necessary due to job modifications.
