The Drug Substance Engineering Intern will work within Product Development, Science, and Technology (PDS&T) on understanding how powder physical properties affect feeding performance in micronization processes. Micronization, including pin milling and jet milling, is a critical process in active pharmaceutical ingredient manufacturing. The internship will help establish a systematic approach to understanding feed-rate control for poorly flowing materials. The intern will conduct experimental studies, evaluate micronization techniques and feed mechanisms, analyze process-performance data, develop and verify computational models, and present findings to departmental and cross-functional audiences.
