About The Position
Wayne County Drug & Alcohol is seeking a part-time Prevention Specialist Trainee. This role supports prevention and intervention programs for schools, parents, and community groups. It involves assisting senior staff with planning activities, maintaining program records, and helping evaluate prevention efforts.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Must meet the PA residency requirement.
- Must be able to perform essential job functions.
- Must pass a background investigation.
- A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
- Must submit and approve satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.

Responsibilities
- Assist in carrying out school and community prevention activities
- Help prepare and deliver educational programs and presentations
- Maintain prevention records and enter data into the state system
- Take part in evaluating programs and identifying community needs
- Serve as a liaison at SAP meetings after required training
