About The Position

This position supports clients by guiding them through assessments, service coordination, and other case management activities. As a Drug and Alcohol Case Management Specialist Trainee, you will perform the following duties: Client Screening: Conduct telephone and face-to-face screening of clients during initial referral contact Service Assessment: Conduct assessments in office or community settings to identify service needs Care Determination: Determine appropriate level of care based on placement guidelines Plan Coordination: Coordinate access to services and update Recovery Plans as needed Authorization Processing: Request funding authorization and complete required documentation Documentation Management: Document case activities and ensure compliance with confidentiality rules.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Dependency, Sociology, Social Welfare, Psychology, Nursing or a related field; or a Bachelor’s Degree which includes or is supplemented by successful completion of 18 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, criminal justice or other related social sciences; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
  • You must meet the PA residency requirement.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and a drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
  • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
