Driving School Instructor
About The Position
AAA Driving School is seeking a Full-Time Driver Training Instructor. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact by helping students of all ages become safer drivers through positive and professional instruction. The company provides in-depth training and support for new instructors, while also valuing the experience of licensed professionals. Instructors will guide students through behind-the-wheel training, track progress using driving school software, and stay current on safe driving practices. A company vehicle is provided, with all fuel, maintenance, and insurance covered.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Minimum of 5 years of driving experience
- Must obtain state-issued Driving School Instructor license, which includes passing a DMV-required physical exam
- Must successfully complete a background check and drug screening
- Experience in driving instruction, education, or the automotive industry
- Confidence working with the public, especially teens
- A strong commitment to promoting safe driving habits
- Flexibility to accommodate student schedules, including weekday afternoons and at least one weekend day
- Physical ability to sit for extended periods, hear and see in all weather conditions, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and lift up to 25lbs
- Must be capable of safely assuming control of the vehicle from the passenger seat during instruction or emergency situations.
Responsibilities
- Deliver behind-the-wheel instruction to students of varying ages and experience levels, following AAA’s curriculum and training standards
- Use driving school software to track and manage student progress
- Assess student performance and provide personalized guidance
- Stay current on safe and defensive driving practices
- Maintain all required state documentation
- Travel within a 50-mile radius as needed
