Driving Instructor
About The Position
A Driving Instructor at Capabilities works with individuals with and without disabilities age 16+ to help them learn the skills necessary to get their learner’s permit and/or driver’s license. You get to work one-on-one with people to teach traffic laws, signs, responsibility, safety, and build confidence while they are on-the-road. When they are ready to test, you accompany them to the testing site to support them and celebrate their achievements. Imagine this: The door to the BMV opens and a newly licensed driver that you helped runs toward you with a big smile on their face… they passed! You just helped open a door to a world of new opportunities for them.
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED or above.
- Ability to type 25 words per minute.
- Ability to navigate a company-issued laptop.
- A clean driving record.
- Ability to teach people to drive in company vehicles.
- Ability to pass a background and drug screening.
Responsibilities
- Teach traffic laws, signs, responsibility, and safety to individuals.
- Build confidence in individuals while they are on-the-road.
- Accompany individuals to the testing site to support them and celebrate their achievements.

- Additional $2/hr for shift differential when applicable
