Driving Instructor - PA

Coastline East LLC DBA Coastline Academy•Lansdale, PA

About The Position

Coastline Academy is hiring a Driving Instructor to teach safe driving skills in company-provided vehicles. Instructors teach mostly teenagers who are new to driving, as well as adults preparing for road tests. Lessons cover practical driving skills and rules of the road, while helping students build confidence and competence. Instructors use their judgment to take control of the vehicle when needed, document student progress, communicate with their supervisor and support team, and participate in team meetings and ongoing development. The role includes 40 hours of paid training: 20 hours of self-paced virtual learning and 20 hours of hands-on driving and practical mentorship, including shadowing live lessons and coaching with a Certified Trainer. The company guides instructors through state licensing requirements, documentation, coursework, and licensing exams. Instructors do not conduct lessons alone with a student until they are ready. Lessons take place in Coastline-provided, clearly marked vehicles equipped with a second instructor brake and inspected by certified mechanics. Lessons are recorded using dashcams that capture video and audio inside and outside the vehicle. Scheduling follows student demand, which is concentrated in afternoons and weekends; a typical day consists of three two-hour lessons.
