About The Position
The Driver-Non CDL Delivery is responsible for loading, transporting, and delivering materials to customer sites. The driver follows safety and compliance regulations, delivers undamaged goods on schedule, and provides professional customer service. The position operates non-CDL vehicles weighing 10,001–26,000 pounds.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 21 years old.
- Valid driver's license and a passing MVR report.
- Fewer than five moving violations in the last five years.
- Obtain a DOT medical card within five days of a request.
- Basic math and measurement skills.
- Ability to read and speak English.
- Ability to perform the essential duties satisfactorily.
Nice To Haves
- Previous delivery experience, preferably involving building materials and delivery equipment.
Responsibilities
- Load and properly secure products, materials, or supplies inside the delivery vehicle.
- Deliver customer orders to designated sites and safely and accurately unload materials while protecting the products and customer property.
- Verify order details, check items against invoices, and maintain delivery logs, including item amounts or weights, mileage, and delivery locations.
- Serve as a customer service liaison between Builders FirstSource and site customers, addressing concerns and helping resolve issues.
- Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of delivery vehicles and perform routine safety checks to ensure compliance with company guidelines.
- Use handheld devices, except while driving, to comply with DVIR and HOS requirements.
- Maintain hours-of-service logs and complete pre- and post-trip inspections.
- Pick up credit or returned products and complete related paperwork as needed.
- Operate a forklift or non-motorized material-handling equipment to load and unload materials in designated areas.
- Follow safety procedures and practices, attend required safety meetings, and recommend improvements to safety procedures when appropriate.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
