About The Position

Our retail store provides the fuel, the face, and the gateway to all the awesome services we provide for individuals, families and organizations in the communities we serve. But, what does that mean for you as a team member? As a Driver you will operate a 1 ½ ton truck. The Driver is responsible for providing a welcome greeting for all donors. DMV and company guidelines must always be observed. Time management is crucial for arriving at the destination and returning on schedule. The Driver exhibits customer commitment, personal effectiveness, and plays a key role in our mission. The Opelika retail store, located on 3740 Pepperell Parkway , is currently looking for a hard-working and dedicated Driver. A part-time position averages 20-25 hours per week. Hours will fluctuate based on business needs (i.e., seasonal changes, donation volumes, etc.) Operating days will fluctuate based on store location. The Driver must be available to work any shifts Monday through Sunday. You will be hired as a Driver, however, you will be cross-trained and expected to learn and work all areas of the retail operation.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 40lbs.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a retail environment may be considered in lieu of education.
  • Previous commercial driving experience, preferred.
  • Prior forklift experience, preferred.
  • Warehouse experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains vehicle logs and daily trip sheets according to all company procedures.
  • Reports any mechanical problems, delays, accidents, and/or other traffic and transportation situations to leadership team.
  • Loads and unloads trucks, vehicles, containers, and trailers by hand or with the use of a hand truck, lift gate, and/or pallet jack during pick-up and drop-offs.
  • Conducts daily preventative maintenance checks, before, during and after operations, and adheres to all safety regulations.
  • Cleans the inside of the assigned vehicle daily, and the outside, as needed.
  • Reports concerns to leadership team immediately.
  • Pads, stacks, and secures items in position on the truck to prevent damage during transit.
  • Works other areas of the store as requested by the leadership team.
