About The Position

The Commons in Lincoln, a Benchmark CCRC campus, is seeking a full-time Van Driver to provide transportation services to residents. The role includes transporting residents to medical appointments, outings, and shopping trips, maintaining vehicles, and monitoring residents’ safety during activities and excursions. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with occasional nights and weekends.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent certificate is preferred.
• Demonstrated interest in the elderly and knowledge of their service needs.
• Demonstrated activities or recreational experience.
• Excellent communication skills.
• A valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Maintain vehicles according to warranty requirements and/or the internal maintenance plan to ensure they are safe and in working order.
• Act as an Activity Assistant during excursions and stay with the group except when parking the van.
• Transport residents to and from medical appointments, outings, and shopping trips.
• Monitor resident activity and alert staff when assistance is necessary to ensure resident safety.
