About The Position

MTM Transit, in partnership with CapMetro, is hiring full-time drivers in Austin, Texas. Drivers provide personalized, safe, and reliable transportation to passengers, including older adults and individuals with disabilities. Training classes begin every other week. The position pays $22.51 per hour and offers paid training, overtime, benefits, paid holidays, paid time off, a 401(k) with company match, and internal career growth opportunities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must have held a continuously valid U.S. driver's license for 3 years.
• Must possess a valid Texas driver's license or be able to obtain one within 3 months of hire.
• No DUI or DWI convictions in the past 10 years.
• No more than 1 suspension, moving violation, or citation within the last 3 years, and no more than 2 within the past 5 years.
• Must pass a DOT physical and pre-employment drug/alcohol screening.
• Must pass a criminal background investigation, including a Texas DPS MVR check.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Must provide a resume with a minimum of 10 years of work history.
• Ability to use a tablet, GPS, two-way radio, or other electronic device.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
• Ability to communicate with others and comprehend instructions.
• Ability to understand highway traffic signs, signals, maps, manifests, and schedules.
• Ability to obtain knowledge of FTA, ADA, and DOT regulations.
• Familiarity with the main roadways and major highways in the service area.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and reliable transportation.
• Demonstrate excellent defensive driving skills.
• Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
• Assist passengers with loading and unloading from the vehicle.
• Assist with mobility devices and secure them according to safety protocols.
• Ensure on-time customer pick-ups and drop-offs.
• Demonstrate understanding and sensitivity to the needs of older adults and individuals with disabilities.
• Complete required vehicle pre-trip, post-trip, and DVI inspections.
• Complete required paperwork.
• Use tablets or other electronic devices as required.
