About The Position

Empower Rental Group is hiring a CDL-A Driver for its Foley, Alabama store. The company is a family of local equipment rental providers across the Southeastern United States and has grown from three locations in 2021 to more than 36 locations. The Driver delivers rental equipment and products to customers, loads, unloads, and secures equipment, relocates units, and performs maintenance or repairs as needed. Driving is the most significant portion of the job, and drivers are expected to operate safely and professionally. The Driver may also assist the service department and other areas during downtime or as needed. The position occasionally involves overnight travel for long-distance deliveries.

Requirements

Current, valid CDL-A driver’s license.
Clean driving record that meets acceptable parameters for the company and/or its vendors and customers.
At least one year of commercial driving experience.
Firm understanding of company driving policies and rules of the road.
Ability to exercise defensive driving skills at all times.
Ability to comply with FMCSA regulations, including Hours-of-Service requirements.

Responsibilities

Transport rental equipment and products to and from customer job sites or rental locations using a CDL-A truck.
Safely navigate construction sites and other delivery locations and unload equipment at the requested destination.
Keep the truck, tools, and equipment in good condition and safe working order.
Maintain truck efficiency by meeting preventive maintenance requirements in accordance with the tractor manufacturer’s or lessor’s instructions.
Build positive relationships with clients and provide professional customer service to customers and coworkers.
Respond to customer inquiries and requests in a timely manner.
Communicate regularly with the branch and customers, maintain client schedules, and promptly report delivery or pickup issues and delays.
Make appropriate repairs to delivered units.
Complete DOT logs as required and maintain an accurate, signed paper log for every day of the week.
Comply with FMCSA regulations, including Hours-of-Service requirements, and maintain up-to-date permits.
Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
Immediately report truck maintenance needs to the Branch Manager.
Maintain a safe work environment.
Assist the service department and other areas as needed or during downtime.
