About The Position

Medical Diagnostic Laboratories (MDL), a CLIA-certified clinical laboratory and member of Genesis Biotechnology Group, is seeking a part-time Driver to pick up medical specimens from health care facilities. The position provides route assistance throughout New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Maryland on an as-needed basis and includes use of a company vehicle. The driver follows routes assigned by the Dispatch Office, retrieves specimens from designated boxes and health care facilities, and coordinates with dispatch and local coordinators about route changes or issues. The driver also assists with packaging and delivery of specimens for shipment to MDL’s laboratories in Hamilton, New Jersey, and may be assigned additional pickups beyond the normal route. The role requires safe driving, professional interactions, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Hours are Monday through Friday, 3:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The work environment includes an enclosed motor vehicle and pickup locations such as doctor offices, hospitals, and laboratories, with some outdoor loading and unloading and indoor paperwork.

Requirements

Ability to operate a motor vehicle safely for long distances.

Responsibilities

Drive to doctor offices, hospitals, and laboratories along routes specified by the Dispatch Office to pick up medical specimens.
Retrieve medical specimens from specimen boxes and health care offices or facilities.
Answer calls from the Dispatch Office or local coordinator about route changes.
Communicate problems and concerns to the Dispatch Office or local coordinator as they occur.
Maintain a professional appearance.
Work with the local coordinator to package specimens for overnight delivery to MDL’s laboratories in Hamilton, New Jersey.
Work with the local coordinator to deliver specimens to a predetermined location daily.
Make additional specimen pickups outside the normal route when requested by the Dispatch Office or local coordinator.
Work independently and as a team player.
Obey all motor vehicle laws and operate the vehicle safely.
