About The Position
Open Sky's Clubhouses are members of the Massachusetts Clubhouse Coalition, a community dedicated to the rehabilitation of adults recovering from mental illness. Clubhouse members take part in meaningful tasks, employment-skill development, educational opportunities, and social activities. Tradewinds Clubhouse serves residents of the Greater Southbridge Area. The Driver transports individuals supported by the Clubhouse. The role follows assigned routes and schedules to provide on-time pickups and drop-offs, keeps the assigned vehicle clean and in good repair, and promptly reports maintenance issues. Drivers operate courteously and safely, remain alert and avoid distractions, and treat the individuals served with dignity and respect while providing appropriate support. Open Sky Community Services is a trauma-informed organization committed to inclusion, opportunity, diversity, racial equity, and justice. Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Must meet MART Driving Standards.
- Reliability, willingness to learn, and openness to new opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Transport individuals supported by the Clubhouse.
- Follow assigned routes and schedules to ensure on-time pickups and drop-offs.
- Keep the assigned vehicle clean and in good repair, and promptly report maintenance issues.
- Drive courteously and obey applicable traffic laws.
- Remain alert and focused and avoid distractions while operating the vehicle.
- Treat individuals served with dignity and respect and provide appropriate support while they are in the driver's care.
