About The Position

The Driver (Non-CDL) drives and operates vehicles that may include small trucks, vans, and SUVs to deliver goods or products. The role collects and transports items, including lab samples, to assigned destinations according to established schedules; loads and unloads goods; interacts professionally with customers; and follows safe driving practices and applicable safety regulations. The driver may also provide departmental support when not transporting items. Other duties may be assigned as required.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license with no significant restrictions or violations.
Must obtain certifications or licenses required by regulatory agencies as a condition of continued employment.
Able to communicate clearly and effectively, verbally and in writing.
Able to interact positively and work effectively with others.
Able to perform tasks without constant supervision and follow through on day-to-day responsibilities.
Able to follow directions and meet deadlines.
Able to project a professional image.
Basic knowledge of DOT regulations.
Must be able to read, write, and speak English.

Nice To Haves

Delivery experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Collect and transport goods, products, and lab samples from assigned company and customer locations according to established schedules.
Follow schedules and use navigation apps to plan routes based on road and traffic conditions.
Complete documentation such as logs, mileage records, and cargo reports.
Keep the supervisor informed of customer requests or concerns.
Report delivery-related situations, including route delays, accidents, and vehicle breakdowns.
Maintain the assigned vehicle in good working order, perform maintenance checks, and advise management of required maintenance or mechanical problems.
Collect payments, document amounts, and provide receipts when applicable.
Provide support to the department when not transporting goods or products.
Load and unload goods or products and interact professionally with customers.
Practice safe driving habits and follow safety regulations and standards.
