About The Position

Block by Block employs Ambassadors to help make public spaces friendlier, safer, and cleaner. The Driver provides transportation services while offering customer service and hospitality, supporting Cleaning Ambassadors and the community. This is a part-time position paying $19.00 per hour, with weekend availability required. Available shifts are 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. or 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Drivers transport and assist Cleaning Ambassadors by operating a F350 or small trash truck. While driving routes through the district, they watch for unwanted behavior or criminal activity and report it to the appropriate parties, providing accurate descriptions of people, vehicles, and other identifiers. Drivers also greet pedestrians and colleagues, provide directions and information, and offer city information or recommendations. They complete written route, destination, accomplishment, and task reports and maintain a positive, professional environment in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and company standards.

The role involves working outdoors in all conditions, using provided inclement-weather gear. Drivers must be able to walk continuously during an eight-hour shift, with normal breaks, and communicate in English to prepare basic reports. Requirements

• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to operate a F450, Low Packer, and Kubota.
• Ability to operate a small trash truck.
• Effective communication skills.
• Driving safety.
• Ability to drive for the majority of the shift.
• Ability to work regardless of weather conditions.
• Ability to walk continuously during an eight-hour shift, with normal breaks.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English to create basic reports.
• Weekend availability is required.
