About The Position

Performs duties related to transporting ambulatory and/or wheelchair-bound individuals in accordance with department and system policies, procedures, and standards. May also function in other positions, such as Discharge Liaison and back-up Dispatch. The role is part of Mobile Care Ambulance Services at Prisma Health EMS.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, or a post-high-school diploma/highest degree earned.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Acceptable motor vehicle record as defined by the Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) Chart.
• No experience required.

Responsibilities

• Verify operational readiness of vehicles and equipment.
• Maintain the cleanliness of vehicles, inside and outside.
• Respond promptly to calls received from the Dispatch Center.
• Operate vehicles safely, courteously, and efficiently, focusing on safety and complying with state driving laws.
• Interact appropriately with the individual being transported, their family members, and other health professionals.
• Prepare written documentation completely, accurately, and on time.
• Attend staff meetings, comply with employee health requirements, and complete mandatory employee training.
• Operate as a driver on an ambulance team as needed to meet volume demands.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
