About The Position

The Driver provides safe, timely, and courteous transportation for residents to appointments and outings while supporting their comfort and upholding vehicle safety standards. The role includes assisting residents in and out of vehicles and to their destinations, conducting vehicle inspections, maintaining vehicle cleanliness and safety equipment, completing driving logs and documentation, and reporting changes in residents’ conditions. Drivers follow OSHA, infection control, and safety standards and assist with activities when not driving. The position contributes to resident safety, reliable transportation, and positive community experiences.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Be at least 21 years old.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• CPR certification, as required.
• Strong communication and time management skills.
• Ability to remain calm in emergencies.
• Ability to operate a wheelchair lift and secure mobility devices.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe transportation to appointments and outings.
• Assist residents in and out of vehicles and to their destinations.
• Maintain focus on safe driving at all times.
• Conduct pre-trip and monthly vehicle inspections.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and safety equipment.
• Complete required driving logs and documentation.
• Report changes in residents’ conditions.
• Follow OSHA, infection control, and safety standards.
• Assist with activities when not driving.
• Operate wheelchair lifts and secure mobility devices.
