About The Position

Empower Rental Group is hiring a CDL-A Driver for its Greenville store in Piedmont, South Carolina. The driver delivers rental equipment and products to customers and rental locations, loads, unloads, and secures equipment, relocates units, and performs maintenance or repairs as needed. Driving is the most significant portion of the job. The driver may also assist the service department and other areas during downtime. Occasional overnight travel for long-distance deliveries is required. The position includes weekly pay and company benefits.

Requirements

• Current, valid CDL-A driver’s license.
• Clean driving record that meets acceptable company and vendor/customer parameters.
• At least one year of commercial driving experience.
• Firm understanding of company driving policies and rules of the road.
• Ability to exercise defensive driving skills at all times.

Responsibilities

• Transport rental equipment and products to and from customer job sites or rental locations using a CDL-A truck.
• Safely navigate construction job sites and delivery locations and unload equipment at the requested location.
• Keep the truck, tools, and equipment in good condition and safe working order.
• Maintain truck efficiency by meeting preventive maintenance requirements in accordance with the tractor manufacturer’s or lessor’s instructions.
• Build positive relationships with clients and provide professional customer service to customers and coworkers.
• Respond to customer inquiries and requests in a timely manner.
• Communicate frequently with the branch and customers, maintain client schedules, and promptly report delivery or pickup issues and delays.
• Make appropriate repairs to delivered units.
• Complete required DOT logs and maintain an accurate, signed paper log for every day of the week.
• Comply with FMCSA regulations, including Hours-of-Service rules, and keep permits up to date.
• Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Immediately report truck maintenance needs to the Branch Manager.
• Maintain a safe work environment.
• Assist the service department and other areas as needed or during downtime.
