About The Position

The Delivery Truck Driver is responsible for safely operating the company’s vehicle and performing related vehicle and delivery functions. Duties include completing pre-trip reports (DVIR), ensuring the truck is properly loaded and materials are secured, delivering materials to customer locations, and processing customer delivery paperwork. The role requires travel to serve the region’s distribution centers and may require overtime as business needs dictate.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least 2 years of truck driving experience with a proven record of safe driving.
Proficiency driving automatic-transmission trucks.
A commercial driver's license (type A or B).
Ability to operate a gate lift.
Proficiency operating an electric pallet jack.
Experience handling commercial and residential deliveries.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test and background check.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations.
At least 5 years of forklift experience.
At least 5 years of truck driving experience with a proven record of safe driving.

Responsibilities

Safely operate a heavy-load truck.
Secure all material at the beginning of the shift and continuously monitor it after each delivery.
Complete and return customer supporting paperwork at the end of each shift.
Collect, document, and properly secure money received, ensuring it aligns with customer paperwork.
Report material damage or customer-related issues and incidents to dispatch.
Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip truck inspections (DVIR).
Seek advice and guidance from a supervisor on non-routine or problem areas.
Perform and document inspections to keep the truck and equipment in good condition.
Serve the region’s distribution centers; travel is required.
