Are you a safety-focused, experienced CDL A driver ready for a rewarding regional role? Xylem in Edison, NJ is seeking a reliable professional to join our team as a Driver Technician. This is an ideal opportunity for individuals with a strong driving background and mechanical skills—especially those who have worked as diesel mechanics or have experience handling and maintaining trucks and equipment.

Requirements

  • Valid CDL A and clean driving record
  • 2+ years of professional driving experience (regional/local/OTR)
  • Physically capable of heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs.), climbing in/out of cabs and trailers
  • Commitment to safety and compliance with DOT/state/federal regulations

Nice To Haves

  • Diesel mechanic or strong mechanical aptitude/experience (mechanics who hold a CDL are highly encouraged to apply!)
  • Previous experience performing basic maintenance and repairs on commercial vehicles and equipment
  • Comfortable assisting in physical tasks: setups, loading, and unloading
  • Flexible, team-oriented attitude; clear communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Safely drive F-150s, rollbacks, and 48’/53’ tractor trailers to transport specialty water treatment products
  • Use forklifts for loading and unloading, both at the warehouse and at delivery sites
  • Assist with equipment set ups, as well as loading/unloading pumps, pipes, and related materials
  • Perform basic mechanical checks and handle minor repairs if required
  • Maintain accurate electronic logs and order documentation
  • Communicate clearly and courteously with internal teams
