Driver / Resident Transportation Assistant – Full Time
About The Position
Spring Arbor Living is hiring a full-time Driver / Resident Transportation Assistant for its senior living community in Williamsburg, Virginia. The primary responsibility is safely transporting residents to appointments, shopping trips, errands, outings, and community events. The role also includes helping residents enter and exit the vehicle, assisting with mobility aids and belongings, maintaining and checking the vehicle, and coordinating daily transportation schedules. When transportation is not scheduled, the employee helps with light maintenance and supports resident activities and events.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Friendly, patient, dependable, and safety-conscious.
- Comfortable assisting residents with mobility needs.
- Must meet applicable background screening and company Drug-Free Workplace requirements.
Nice To Haves
- Previous driving or transportation experience preferred.
- Experience working with seniors is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Safely transport residents to medical appointments, shopping trips, errands, community outings, and events.
- Assist residents with entering and exiting the vehicle safely.
- Help residents with walkers, bags, and personal belongings as needed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable community vehicle.
- Perform routine vehicle safety checks and report concerns.
- Help coordinate daily transportation schedules.
- Provide friendly, dependable service to residents.
- Set up furniture and equipment for events.
- Assist with resident activities, outings, and special events.
- Support the Lifestyle Director and Activities team as needed.
