About The Position

The Driver Recruitment Program Lead/Specialist is to develop recruitment programs to attract and fulfill the business needs for Owner Operators and Company Drivers. This role will also be responsible to recruit, process, and fill positions within the department. The Driver Recruitment Program Lead/Specialist will create training modules and programs for all new hires within the Recruiting Department. This role will also be responsible for enhancing the recruiting, selection and onboarding experiences for new drivers. In this role, you will be required to evaluate areas of concern and provide solutions to these challenges.

Requirements

  • Minimum of secondary education, with preference of post-secondary education (general stream), or a combination of education and experience.
  • 1-2 years of experience in full cycle recruiting.
  • Minimum 2 years in Driver Recruitment role.
  • Minimum 3 years administration or clerical duties in the Transportation Industry.
  • Advanced communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must be data driven and adaptive.
  • Computer skills – MUST be subject matter expert with Applicant Tracking System.
  • Resourceful – ability to think outside of the box to find suitable candidates for hard to fill positions.
  • Demonstrated customer relationship management skills.
  • Strong conflict resolution skills.
  • Able to work to tight deadlines and under pressure.
  • Ability to champion business needs in a collaborative manner to colleagues.
  • Results focused.
  • Ability to influence without authority and work with client groups across levels.
  • Superior Time Management Skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Transportation or operational experience is preferred, various roles within transportation would be beneficial.
  • Bilingualism in English and French is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead full cycle recruitment for all driver roles; meet department targets.
  • Review pipelines, funnel, and provide detailed reports. Identify any bottlenecks and provide solutions.
  • Monitor the use, adoption, effectiveness, and compliance of Recruiting department processes, policies, and programs and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Provide weekly reporting for updates to key stakeholders for all projects related to Company Drivers.
  • Establish relationships with applicable leaders of Company Driver programs as well as designated Driver Training Schools to build talent pipelines for future requirements.
  • Collect Industry compensation packages, best practices, etc. Benchmarking against peers or industry best practices is essential for maintaining competitive advantage.
  • Partner with Operations team members to determine the future business needs to promote success for company driver programs.
  • Ensure our onboarding programs create an inclusive environment for people to thrive.
  • Develop training programs for all internal Recruiting Department hires to ensure success in their new roles.
  • Lead the design and implementation of consistent and leading edge acquisition programs, policies, and procedures for Day & Ross Inc.
  • Participate in Recruiting Department career fairs, truck shows, etc. across Canada.
  • Act as the subject matter expert on recruiting processes and policies
  • Other duties/responsibilities as required.
