About The Position

This is a Part Time Driver position responsible for safely transporting persons served to and from medical facilities, ensuring timely arrivals. The role involves assisting individuals with boarding and exiting the vehicle, maintaining their comfort and safety during the journey, and communicating with medical staff regarding their needs and conditions. Additionally, the driver is responsible for maintaining accurate records of transportation activities and ensuring the vehicle is kept in good condition and adheres to all traffic laws and safety regulations.

Requirements

• Possess a high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
• Specific knowledge of fleet or transportation program processes and practices.
• Maintains current knowledge of standards of care and practices.
• A valid state-issued driver’s license is required with an acceptable driving record.
• Prepares basic correspondence and simple reports in Microsoft Word.
• Uses Microsoft Excel to create tables and simple displays of information.
• Creates basic presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Demonstrates necessary proficiency with all electronic clinical systems, including EHR and scheduling systems, in use at the Company.
• Functions effectively in response to workflow or ongoing direction by supervisors.
• Effectively selects from pre-established alternatives to resolve situations encountered on the job.
• Able to effectively communicate opinions drawn from conclusions using inference and logic.
• Exercises tact and diplomacy in resolving mild conflicts or disagreements.

Responsibilities

• Safely transports persons served to and from medical facilities, ensuring timely arrivals.
• Assists persons served with boarding and exiting the vehicle, including securing wheelchairs or mobility aids.
• Ensures comfort and safety throughout the journey.
• Communicates with medical staff regarding needs and conditions of persons served.
• Maintains accurate records of transportation activities, including pick-up/drop-off times and details of persons served.
• Maintains vehicle per agency and state laws and regulations.
• Conducts routine vehicle inspections to ensure proper functioning.
• Maintains the cleanliness and hygiene of the vehicle.
• Adheres to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
