About The Position

Bakersfield Behavioral Healthcare Hospital (BBHH) is seeking a Non-Emergency Patient Transport Driver to ensure the continuity of care between BBHH and other facilities or locations for patient transportation. This role is crucial for maintaining the quality and safety of patient transport, directly impacting patient wellness and community care. The Driver will work under the supervision of the Director of Clinical Services and collaborate with Case Managers to ensure patients reach their destinations safely and on time, continuing their course of care beyond the hospital walls. This is an hourly, non-exempt, overtime-eligible, full-time position.

Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent
Valid Driver's License in the State of California
Clean MVR (Motor Vehicle Record)
Personal motor vehicle insurance that meets the minimum California State Regulations
Awareness of safety while driving
Current BLS CPR certification (or obtain prior to start date)
Complete 'Handle-With-Care' Physical Restraint Technique Training during orientation

Responsibilities

Ensure the continuity of care between Bakersfield Behavioral Healthcare Hospital and other facilities/locations to which patients need to arrive.
Ensure quality and safety are present while transporting patients.
Transport patients safely, timely, and with compassionate care.
Ensure every patient continues to receive the best care possible, even beyond the walls of our hospital.
Work closely with Case Managers to ensure every patient gets where they need to be so that they continue their course of care.
