NEMT Driver – Patient Transportation

About The Position
Innovative Care Solutions is seeking a reliable and compassionate NEMT Driver to provide safe, dependable transportation for Ohio’s Hospice patients. In this role, you will transport patients to and from approved appointments and destinations while providing courteous assistance throughout each trip. The position is ideal for someone who enjoys driving, working independently, and providing respectful service to patients and families.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
- Required automobile insurance coverage.
- Ability to safely operate a passenger transportation vehicle.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Basic computer skills for completing required documentation.
- Ability to successfully complete required background screening and 10-panel drug screening.
- Ability to complete Passenger Assistance Safety and Sensitivity (PASS) training or Area Agency on Aging DRIVE training. Training may be provided during orientation.
- Ability to work the required schedule and safely drive in varying weather and road conditions.
Responsibilities
- Safely transport patients using an assigned transportation vehicle.
- Assist patients with entering and exiting the vehicle based on their individual needs.
- Provide professional, respectful, and compassionate service to patients and families.
- Follow traffic laws, transportation requirements, and organizational safety procedures.
- Complete transportation logs, trip documentation, and required reports accurately.
- Maintain the cleanliness and general condition of the assigned vehicle.
- Report transportation concerns, schedule changes, or other issues to the appropriate team members.
- Operate the vehicle safely in daytime, nighttime, and changing weather conditions.
- Work with the care team and other departments to support timely transportation.
- Complete required training and maintain knowledge of safe patient transportation practices.
- Participate in quality improvement activities related to transportation services.
