About The Position

This is a part-time position, 2-3 days a week, with working shifts of 6-8 hours per day between 8 am and 3 pm, capping at 25 hours weekly. The role is split between driving responsibilities (80%) and office assistant duties (20%). As a driver, you will deliver and pick up cases from designated dental offices, prepare route totes, establish and maintain professional relationships with clients, use a route cell phone for communication, and maintain company vehicles. As an office assistant, you will manage daily case workflow, including processing, shipping, receiving, and billing of dental patient cases. You will also answer the front door, greet visitors, use lab management software (Evident), communicate with external customers (dentists and their teams) via phone, fax, and email, and support internal D&S employees. This role is with D&S, a manufacturer of dental appliances, described as challenging, rewarding, collaborative, fast-paced, and innovative. The front office environment is also described as fast-paced, team-based, offering a wide variety of tasks, and requiring a lot of movement.

Requirements

  • High School or equivalent
  • Attention to detail and aptitude in working with numbers including mathematical calculations involving percentages, fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively communicate information to clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

  • Vision: The employee is required to have visual acuity to perform an activity such as: operating motor vehicles.
  • The ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds (e.g., machinery alarms, medical codes or alarms
  • May occasionally need to walk up and down stairs during deliveries.
  • Must be able to wear personnel protective equipment for tasks requiring them.
  • The worker is subject to vibration, exposure to oscillating movements of the extremities or whole body.
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions during outdoor deliveries.
  • Must be comfortable driving and working in a mobile setting.
